\nEl piloto Hubert Auriol, m\u00e1s conocido por su sobrenombre, \u201cEl Africano\u201d, naci\u00f3 en Adis Abeba, Etiopia, falleci\u00f3 hoy a los 68 a\u00f1os en Paris. <\/p>\n

En el mundo dakariano es considerado un mito, uno de los hombres que mantuvo vivo el esp\u00edritu del rally m\u00e1s duro del mundo. <\/p>\n

Fue el primer piloto en ganar en motos y autos. En 1981 y 1983 sobre dos ruedas, BMW R80 G\/S fue la m\u00e1quina elegida y en 1992 se subi\u00f3 a un Citroen ZX Rally para vencer en esa edici\u00f3n. <\/p>\n

Solo el franc\u00e9s St\u00e9phane Peterhansel y el espa\u00f1ol Nani Roma lo han igualado. Tras retirarse, no dej\u00f3 el Dakar, sino que se implic\u00f3 a\u00fan m\u00e1s, y entre 1994 y 2005 fue director de la prueba. <\/p>\n

Tras finalizar la primera parte de la etapa marat\u00f3n, los pilotos rindieron homenaje a un aut\u00e9ntico hombre del Dakar.
